The Glens of Enderby

3108copy.jpg (14992 bytes)The Glen family immigrated to Canada from Scotland, specifically from the parish of Lochwinnoch. Formally, they were known as the "Glens of Kaim", and they were well respected. "The Glen family has always stood for integrity, honor, and piety," said the minister in 1843, and that reputation has lasted through the generations to this day.

The first Glen to come to Canada, arriving about 1869, was Reverend Andrew Glen. The family slowly spread out across the country and Billie (Wilhem) Glen arrived in Enderby, B.C. about 1905. This young man was the root of a large family of Glens to grow and branch out in Enderby.

Billie's parents, Andrew and Ida, together with their three youngest sons, Jim, Ken, and Stewart, followed in 1908. Later, another son, Andrew Livingstone, also moved to Enderby to farm. The boys grew up, got married, and had families of their own, and this is where the Glen family history in Enderby, B.C. begins.
