Bill Cameron
Buttermaker Bill Cameron was born,
educated, and got his first job in Enderby. Bill held a Third Class Steam Engine
certificate and was a graduate of four business management courses.
Bill Cameron worked in association with the, creamery, Enderby Creamery
and NOCA Dairies in 1929. Bill later went on to become a champion buttermaker.
Bill Cameron started working for Palace Creamery, and later for the Enderby Creamery, a
branch of NOCA, in 1927. In 1933 to 1946 Bill participated in many competitions between
buttermakers. Needless to say, NOCA won at all major exhibitions across Canada.
Bill won first prize in an international milk judging competition in Pullman, which to an
average farmer, is a very high honor.
In 1949 Bill became production manager for SODICA. Bill Cameron has a wife Mae and a son
Gary. Bill's wife Mae was editor of "Cream Collector" in 1956, and was also a
member of SODICA.
