The Fire at Enderby Creamery August 11, 1939
The fire luckily only claimed the attic or top half of the house. None of the Skelly family that were living in the house at the time of the fire were hurt. The fire was apparently cause by "spontaneous combustion" in the attic; summer heat could have started the fire. When the members of the directory and management found out they where " hardened through adversity," and responded vigorously. David Howrie, contractor, was quickly given the go-ahead to rebuild the Creamery, which got underway in September. Naomi LaBelle |
