Jobs of the Mayor

5322copy.jpg (14823 bytes)One of the major roles of mayor is to act as P.R. man for the city. He must represent the city at various functions throughout his term. In addition to this, the mayor runs all the city's business with the help of his staff.

In Enderby, this staff consists of one city clerk, one outside superintendent, and three office workers. The mayor must look after sewer and water systems, road maintenance, garbage collection, subdividing, reconstruction, inspections, fire protection, and many other matters.

According to Mayor Terry Fergus, the most important role of mayor may be the collection and use of tax money and the planning ahead of what to do with it.
