Enderby Evangelical Chapel
Iin 1954 an addition was built on the west side of the building. This included four Sunday School rooms and a furnace room. Then, with the church growing, an annex wing was added to the south side of the building. This took place in 1961. Three years later in 1964 a balcony was built on the north wall of the church. This building was used until 1971 when the present building was constructed. In 1972 the name was changed from the First Baptist to the Enderby Evangelical Chapel. Over the many years of this church's existence in Enderby many pastors have served here. Presently, the church has three pastors. They are: Pastor John Giesbrecht, Pastor Byron Thomsen, and Pastor Scott Hemenway. The Evangelical youth group has been going for many years. The Youth Outreach has been active in this church for more than 25 years and is more alive than ever today. The first youth Pastor was Pastor Jack Knight who came in May of 1985. He was involved in two youth missions projects. The first was to northern Saskatchewan, and the second to Ticati, Mexico in March of 1989. Pastor Scott_Hemenway became the new Youth Pastor as of May 1989. A few of the other outreaches of this church include the Men's Breakfasts, Morning Out For Moms, numerous Bible studies and prayer meetings, and several programs for younger children such as the Boy's Club and Pioneer Girls. The Enderby Christian Academy was established in 1977 with Dr. Wendland, Harold Carlaw, and Pastor Lloyd Wiebe being the main persons involved in the founding. In the spring of 1989 the Enderby Christian Academy changed its name to the Enderby Christian School. Within the last two years the School has grown with the purchase of a two storey building known as "The Cliffview Building". The Christian School is making a difference in the lives of many children.
