Bank of Hamilton

The Bank of Hamilton was one of the many businesses which sprang up during the time when the A.R. Rogers Sawmill offered new jobs for the people in Enderby. Before the Bank of Hamilton opened in 1918 the building was used as a grocery store (built by Tom Robinson). It was located on the north side of Cliff St. between the R.P. Bradley Hardware Store and Sutherland's Bakery. In 1921, the Bank left town after the mill had closed.

The building was then used as a grocery store by "Cockeyed" Wilson. After him, May Johnston, who lived upstairs, used the main floor as a beauty salon, and later passed it on to Mr. Barber who ran a barber shop with a beauty salon in the back.
